The Bayou 220 was the foundation of Kawasaki's Bayou ATV family that would eventually span five displacements from 185cc through 400cc across a production run stretching from 1985 to 2011. The 220 was introduced in 1988 as a replacement for the original KLF185 Bayou 185, bringing increased displacement, more power, and a refined chassis. The KLF220A model code covers all Bayou 220s from 1988 through 2002, with yearly suffix designations A1 through A15. The 215cc air-cooled SOHC engine with 66mm bore and 61mm stroke became one of the most proven small-displacement ATV powerplants in history. Shaft drive, sealed drum brakes, and automatic clutch make the Bayou 220 virtually maintenance-free beyond basic fluid changes. This kit restores factory carburetor performance with all O-rings, gaskets, jets, needle, mixture screw, float bowl screws, and float valve needle and seat. NBR rubber O-rings and upgraded interface gasket material resist ethanol-blended fuels.
